USAID VOICE TEL TECH NUST
The USAID funded Pakistan Jobs project in collaboration with Voice Tell Tech (VTT), Strategy and Management Consultants, is holding an interactive workshop on ‘Private sector engagement for Professional Development Initiatives” on October 9, 2010 at NUST H-12 premises, Islamabad. The workshop is part of a nation-wide initiative series with the strategic focus to create an enabling environment for job seekers in Pakistan’s job market. The workshop aims to engage private sector companies with the higher education institutes to design professional develop initiatives including soft skills training programs for job seekers and professionals, by soliciting requirements of the private sector. The workshop also envisions to develop a long term relationship between the private sector companies and higher education institutes. Internationally renowned Human Resource (HR) consultants, Muhammad Talha and Zaheer Baig, will facilitate the proceedings of the workshop including brainstorming session and group activities. Representatives from American Business Council members, different private sector companies and small medium enterprises (SMEs) would participate in the event. It is expected that there would be extensive deliberations on significant areas which include private sector expectations for quality human resource, soft skills curriculum for fresh graduates as well as junior to mid level officers, and monitoring & evaluation mechanisms for the programs including formation of a joint committee. Managing Director, Pakistan Television (PTV), Arshad Khan, will preside over the certificate distribution ceremony in the end.
VTT is a strategy and management consultancy firm with vast international and local experience. The firm is technical implementation partner of USAID in Pakistan jobs project, which involves various initiatives aiming to promote a conducive job environment and skill development in Pakistan.
