Expressing shock and grief over the unfortunate assassination of Governor Punjab, Salman Taseer, Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) condemns the brutal incident and calls for impartial probe to unearth the real circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
In his condemnation message to media, Executive Director, SDPI has termed this incident as “barbaric and against the humanity”. Dr Suleri said that although it was premature to conclude at this point of time the real factors and circumstance behind his brutal killing. “His death will further add to political instability in the country and law & order situation since he was country’s important political figure and have been recently defending proposed amendments to the blasphemy law of the country” he added. He further said that he died for the right cause and SDPI will keep on supporting the liberal and progressive forces who are struggling to bring sanity in this homeland.
